I am introducing a new style of expression to the art world called
“Textscapism.” Textscapism is when you have to decode the colored letters
putting them in their correct sequence drawing you in giving you the picture.
Two colors the answer is a double entendre, three colors it’s a triple entendre
and so forth. I use primary colors, pastels, glow in the dark, whatever paint
combo that encapsulates the emotion in the piece. My art is cognitive
behavioral learning at it’s best; fusing your left analytical brain with your right
abstract brain. My medium is acrylic on canvas and spray paint on various
materials. Puzzles, multi meanings, and my fascination with riddles,
information and game shows is what inspires me to make word art. Art should
make you think, feel, inspire and confirm. How much more fun is it when you
are engaged simultaneously with others from various backgrounds to uncover
the artistic message? Everyone that experiences their personal inner journey
outwardly with Textscapism feels a sense of accomplishment after going
through the processing of the artworks message. It's awesome when one is
familiar with the formula, sharing it with someone new. 1995 was the year I
was clinically diagnosed with bi-polar mood disorder; a chemical imbalance.
My work is a culmination from the perspective of what “mentally ill” looks like,
a psychological experiment. Textscapism; the worlds new Rorschach test.
