ABOUT
The Artist- Gene Grey grew up in Los Angeles, California experiencing all types of artists and avenues for expression. The city of L.A. has always played a major role in his creativity. Grey thrived in sports and other creative outlets as a young man and saw such a bright future ahead. With offers coming in from the MLB and great college opportunities at hand, he never imagined anything would interfere with his trajectory of success.
The Diagnosis- In 1995 Gene Grey’s life would forever change after a Bi-Polar Mood Disorder Diagnosis. Spending several years as a treated patient, Grey was assigned to prescription meds for more than twenty years. Taking his mental health very seriously, Grey took a self oath to change his dietary and physical lifestyle and has been successfully off meds for seven years! During his mental health journey Gene Grey found solace in expressing himself with his art. It was during this introspective and healing time that “Textscapism” was born.
